"Cool Recovery isn’t rocket science, it’s plain common sense - for carers as well."
Jan D (Dartmouth)
"I have been coming to the Cool House for the last 4 years, on and off, and I find it very restful. It is very helpful meeting people who have the same problems as me in the carers’ meeting. I can speak out and share with others and John (Carers support worker) which is good."
Diane B (Newton Abbot)
"Since coming to the Cool House it has made me a more outgoing confident person. Thank you Cool Recovery"
David Y(Torquay)
"I come to chat and be open. Cool House is cool."
Darren M (Newton Abbot)
"I have been in the mental health circle for many years now and have seen many friends pass away in cruel circumstances due to the above problem. I myself have attempted suicide, I often say to people they would not like to spend a week in my shoes, let alone a year. I and many others struggle and fight on against surmounting odds. The Cool House is a bolt hole for many who need advice or comfort. Mental health is known as the Cinderella service but the truth can be seen on many faces and upsetting emotions. By helping Cool Recovery you would undoubtedly be saving lives directly and indirectly. Please help us."
David B (Torquay)
. . . Cool Recovery is such an important charity. I called at the Cool House last year and felt extremely impressed with the attractive and friendly atmosphere. I joined the Depression Group which is supportive, to share and listen to others, it is imperative that this charity receives funding to help so many people with extremely painful situations in their lives. It gives you a sense of not having to survive alone and that is the most important ingredient. The Cool House gives everyone a warm and friendly atmosphere."

"I have been involved with Cool almost from the time it started. I have found that as a carer of someone with mental health issues, the meetings and the information have been invaluable."

"When I have felt all at sea with all the different terms and different teams, COOL has been able to explain to me in layman’s terms what it all means."

"Often you feel you are grappling with these problems on your own, but through the monthly meetings and many other get-togethers, it becomes clear that you are not the only one and exchanging ideas with other carers has been a lifeline. Long may Cool continue."
Val D (Kingsbridge)
"Shiatsu at Dartmouth group; Shiatsu has helped me so much especially at certain times when I feel more vulnerable. Being part of the Dartmouth Group and having shiatsu, I’ve kept well for four years now."

"Shiatsu at Dartmouth group; Having the group and shiatsu locally without having to travel has really helped me to cope better. The shiatsu practitioner is someone who really cares and she is able to release "stuck" energy."

This year I have used the Cool House to meet colleagues for meetings, meet friends for lunch, start learning to play the piano and simply to call in on the chance of meeting up with friends to relax and have a coffee. As a carer I feel welcomed and at ease, as a professional I value the resources available to carers and the opportunities to meet colleagues in refreshingly upbeat surrounding."
Pennie Evans Manager, Crossroads Care
I enjoyed all the visits of the Cool Recovery groups. They were so appreciative and I saw theresource we have here through their eyes. In the visitors book which they all signed, they mentioned the tranquillity and the relaxation they had felt during their visits so I guess some therapy had taken place for those people who had come along, and it certainly had as far as I was concerned!"

If it’s not happening here (at COOL) it›s not been thought of yet."
