Carers in Crisis
COOL House Carers Day with guest Richard Turner, whose job is to carry out reviews after serious incidents involving people using Devon Partnership Trust mental health services.
Richard writes "In one of my recent reviews there was a recommendation that DPT needs to omprove the information and support that it offers to carers when someone is in crisis. I was also hoping to get some carer & service user input into the work and wondered if anyone in your organisation might be interested in getting involved even if just to discuss the idea, how to progress it."

Date & Time:- 22nd May 2013 from 11:00am

New to COOL
The Bridging the Gap Partnership
Bridging the Gap has been formed by Cool Recovery and the first partner is the Mirror Mirror PLayback Theatre. We aim to improve the outcomes for people with a dual diagnosis of mental illness & substance misuse.
Having known so many people 'fall between the cracks' unable to get the help they and their family need, we would like to hear from people in S Hams who have needed or used Mental Health & Drug & Alcohol Services and would like to help in 'Bridging the Gap'.
Currently an event is being planned around
'Duel Diagnosis: Mental Health and Substance Misuse". It is titled
'Between the Cracks: Bridging the Gap', and hopes to build better and more joined up services for people with a duel diagnosis.
Bridging the Gap is going to be talking to users and working with the third sector and is dedicated to bringing the three voices together.
