Background & Activities . . .

Widely known as COOL, Carers-One-to-One Link was founded in 1999 by a South Devon mother to improve communication and provide information to support families and friends affected by mental health problems. In 2005 the same benefactor purchased 17, Morgan Avenue in Torquay and a second worker was engaged as manager. The charity became independent and was registered as Cool Recovery Limited. Members and friends helped refurbish and convert the former guest house into the thriving and attractive Cool House; a place of recovery for those who want to make changes in their lives.

Cool Recovery offers a variety of activities and therapies; art, crafts, music, cooking, massage, gardening, counselling, support groups, volunteering opportunities, work placements and more. Most groups and activities are run by members. Cool Recovery is now an established and well known information and support network for anyone affected by mental health issues. Regular activities and support groups continue in Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, South Brent, Totnes as well as Torquay.

Our Annual Reviews provide a forum to reflect upon the activities and acheivements of the charity over the previous 12 months. They contain reports and anecdotes from the perspectives of members, volunteers, supporters, staff and trustees. We feel these documents will give you an insight into what Cool Recovery is all about.

16th December: COOL Christmas Disco Following the great success of the 'Halloween Hoodang' in October, another enjoyable evening of dancing and tunes is planned at the Cool House on 16th December, featuring regular DJ Yazu. Doors will open at 7pm. Tickets are available for purchase in advance from the Cool House at the following prices:

£5.00 family, £3.00 single adult, £1.50 kids over 7 (under 7's free).

Please note entry will be 50p extra on the night.

The CRUX CRAFT FAIR took place as planned on 25th, 26th & 27th November, at Rattery near Totnes, in support of Cool Recovery. We'd like to thank all the stall holders, volunteers and visitors who helped make this event a resounding success.

The raffle raised an amazing £1,400 for Cool funds this year.
